Sept. 12: Downtown Stockton Art Walk: The Art Walk utilizes temporary “phantom galleries” in the Janet Leigh (Cinema) Plaza, along Weber Avenue and Main Street and includes the Tidewater Art Center's monthly “Meet the Artist” reception and the Bob Hope Theatre's Classic Cinema Series. Each month, the bright yellow Art Walk Guides, available at each venue, feature a map and complete listings of the evening's artists, exhibits, and special features, such as complimentary food, drink and music. All exhibits, demonstrations and live entertainment are free of charge (tickets to Classic Cinema Series are $6). Signage at the entrance to each exhibit indicates audience age appropriateness. Sept. 13: Family Day at the Park: Over 80 businesses and community organizations will provide interactive projects that include making bookmarks, greeting cards, a miniature city, art projects, storytelling and recreational activities. Mascots, local musical entertainment are also festival favorites. The popular Used Book Sale will once again offer more than 5,000 titles. In addition 10 published children's authors & illustrators will preside over The Friends of the Library King Author's Court – telling stories, teaching, signing books and answering questions. Dec. 4: 13th Annual Parade of Lights - Lodi:
Countless lights, floats, marching bands, dance groups and themed vehicles will entertain thousands of viewers in Downtown Lodi, CA. Tel: (209) 369-8052
Dec. 6, 13, 20: Winterfest – Lodi: Downtown Lodi, CA. Tel: (209) 369-8052
Dec. 6-7: 17th Annual Festival of Trees: Features over 70 unique and beautifully decorated Christmas trees at the San Joaquin County Historical Museum located in Micke Grove Park south of Lodi. Docent dressed in vintage Victorian and pioneer clothes will make visitors feel as though they've stepped back in time to celebrate the holiday. In addition to the decorated trees, the event features children's craft activities, demonstrations such as weaving and spinning, model trains, entertainment and historical exhibits.
