Launches Child Support Enforcement Campaign

More than
half of all child support claims go unpaid in Nevada. Louise
Bush, Chief of the Child Support Enforcement Program within
the State of Nevada Department of Health and Human Services,
Division of Welfare and Supportive Services, recently
announced that the department has launched Supporting
Nevada’s Children, a statewide public outreach campaign
intended to promote and educate custodial parents about the
resources available to help them receive child support.
“More than
half of all child support claims go unpaid in Nevada because
parents simply do not know where to turn,” Bush stated. “It
is our intent that this campaign will inform custodial
parents about the tools they have available to them in a
simple and effective way, helping them to get the child
support they deserve.”
Supporting
Nevada’s Children helps parents get information about
establishing paternity; locating a parent to establish
paternity; establishing, monitoring and enforcing a court
order to pay child support; collecting and distributing
child support payments; establishing and enforcing medical
support (including dental and vision care) and more.
Melissa Gullickson from the campaign was interviewed on our
online radio show, Champagne Sundays, on October 12, 2008.

www.supportingnevadaschildren.com
a billboard advertising campaign, strategic
media relations and the design and distribution
of marketing pieces such as rack cards, posters,
flyers and magnets. Statewide outreach to
strategically selected partners throughout
Nevada such as hospitals and pediatricians, day
care facilities, libraries and schools will be
an additional element in the promotion of
Supporting Nevada’s Children.
