You can also visit pueblos that are centuries old in the Central Region, including Cochiti, Isleta, Jémez, Sandia, San Felipe, Santa Ana, Santo Domingo and Zia.
Hot air ballooning is a major pastime in this area, and Albuquerque is home to the largest hot air ballooning event in the world, the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta in October. River rafting, biking, birding, boating, fishing, golfing, skiing, camping and hiking are also popular. For those after an equestrian adventure, there is Romero's Thunder Inc. Horseback Riding and The Stables at Tamaya.
