ADAIR PARK: 16 miles Northeast on Highway 95, with entry 3/4
miles east of the McPhaul bridge. Covering 660 acres, this park has nine
rifle, pistol and archery ranges. There is also a baseball diamond,
radio-control model airplane strip, picnic areas and camping sites
available. Shooting matches and other activities are frequently
scheduled at the ranges.

AGRICULTURAL DESTINATIONS: Near Yuma is Rancho
Del Sol, a citrus packing plant that offers fresh citrus, including
grapefruit, oranges, tangelos and lemons. Citrus candy, pecans and local
honey is also available for sale and shipping. Located at 1691 E. County
16th, it's open 8am - 5pm daily, November - May. For information on

The Peanut Patch offers fresh peanuts, peanut brittle, peanut fudge, and
more. Call (928) 726-6292 for information on hours of operation. At
Imperial Date Gardens you will find fresh dates, nuts, candies and other
produce. The date has been cultured for more than 5,000 years, making it
one of the oldest cultivated tree crops. For information, call (760)

CASINOS: The
Cocopah Casino & Bingo consists of 475 of your favorite video poker &
slot machines, plus a 300 seat Bingo Parlor. Non-smoking area for your
comfort and convenience. The Paradise Casino has slots, bingo, Keno, and
live action poker. It also features The Sea Horse Restaurant, a sports

CENTER OF THE WORLD: Located at Felicity, CA, 9 miles west on I-8
to Sidewinder exit. Turn right then left on Center of the World Drive.
The village features a 21-ft. tall pyramid, a section of the Eiffel
Tower Stairs and new Sundial with Michelangelo's "Arm of God". Major
features are the Granite Walls of the World Commemorative Center. Gift
shop is open Thanksgiving to mid-April. Hours daily from 10am - 5pm.

CENTURY HOUSE MUSEUM: 240 South Madison, (928)
782-1841. A regional museum of the Arizona Historical Society, Century
House is one of Yuma's oldest and most historic buildings. Once the home
of pioneer merchant E. F. Sanguinetti, the museum now exhibits
artifacts, photographs and furnishings of Arizona's territorial period.
Colorful gardens and aviaries with exotic and talking birds are
maintained as they were at the turn of the century.
Museum, Library & Gift Shop are open 10 a.m.
to 4 p.m. Tues through Sat.
COCOPAH INDIAN MUSEUM: Exhibit and gift shop. Gift
shop items include tribal beadwork, arts & crafts, tribal dolls, Native
American tapes and CD's, beading and jewelry supplies. The museum/gift
shop is open Monday through Friday from 9 am to 4pm; it is closed on the
second and fourth Monday of each month. Drive South on Highway 95 past
Somerton, turn right on Avenue G, then turn left on County 15th,

COLORADO KING I PADDLE BOAT: Enjoy the
Colorado River on a double deck riverboat, the only true stern wheeler
in America driven by a paddle wheel. Captain Ron's narrative excursions
add to the relaxing enjoyment of the Colorado River. Dining and weddings

DATELAND: Located 50 miles East of Yuma on Interstate 8,
Dateland is a perfect place to stop for a refreshing date shake and a
little sight-seeing. Established in the early 1900's, Dateland was one
of the desert training sites used by General Patton, and nearby is a
monument dedicated to the men who died during WWII training exercises.
There are also the remains of a WWII POW camp.
ST. THOMAS MISSION: Ft. Yuma
Indian Reservation, (760) 752-0283. Built on the grounds of the original
Mission founded by Father Garces in 1780, the Mission is a reminder of
the long history of the Quechan Indian Nation and Yuma. The present
Catholic Mission Church was built in 1922 and is a replica of the
original Mission that was destroyed during an Indian uprising in 1855.
Open during services on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. & Sunday 10:30 a.m.
The
Yuma Art Center is a great place to be creative, meet new people,
enjoy live music/theater, get involved, relax, and experience the arts.

YUMA CROSSING STATE HISTORIC PARK: 210 North 4th Ave., (928)
329-0471.The Quartermaster Depot was authorized by Congress in 1865 and
served the entire Southwest as a material transfer and distribution
point for troops stationed at the outposts of the Arizona Territory. The
Park features the original Depot, an early adobe house, stagecoaches,
mule wagons, a steam train, an historic adobe corral and a Visitor
Center. Open 7 days a week, 10 a.m.
to 5 p.m. except holidays.
YUMA LANDING: 195 South 4th Ave., (928)
782-7427.The first plane to land on Arizona soil dropped out of the sky
into a ball park between 1st and 3rd Streets on 4th Avenue, October 25,
1911. Robert G. "Bob" Fowler was flying a Wright model B, 30-hp
two-prop-biplane. He landed in Yuma during a history making flight that
began in Santa Monica, CA and ended by rolling the wheels of his biplane
into the Atlantic surf in Miami, FL.
There is a monument acknowledging the first
flight into Yuma, AZ, at the Yuma Landing Restaurant, as well as a
pictorial display on the history of Yuma.
YUMA PROVING GROUND HERITAGE
CENTRE: The Heritage
Center is an historical holding dedicated to the history of the United
States Army and the history of military munitions and equipment testing
at YPG. Many artifacts and pictures on display. Located on the main post
at building (S-2), it is open to the public Monday through Thursday,
10am - 3:00pm. For

free.
YUMA RIVER TOURS: A narrated jet boat tour is
a great way to learn about the history of the Colorado River, as well as
sight a variety of birds and wildlife, and view historical Indian
Petroglyphs. Phone: (928) 783-4400
YUMA TERRITORIAL PRISON STATE PARK: Giss Parkway &
Prison Hill Road, (928) 783-4771. Between 1876 and 1909, this
penitentiary housed many of Arizona's most dangerous and notorious
criminals. Famed in movies, literature and television, the remains of
the prison are now Arizona's most visited State Historic Park. The
cells, main gate and guard tower have endured as grim reminders of
frontier justice. Museum exhibits document the story of the prison. Open
8 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day except Christmas.
