About Yuma, AZ
Yuma and its surrounding area is unique to the Southwest. The Colorado River winds through rugged mountain canyons, feeds numerous lakes and channels, keeps a multi-billion dollar agricultural business thriving, while all the time making sure that the creatures of the desert have a place to quench their thirst or clean their feathers.

Yuma is nestled in the Yuma and Gila valleys of southern Arizona, offering a climate that blends pleasant desert sunshine with the cool waters of the Colorado River. Surrounded by rugged mountains, Yuma is known as the City with sunshine 93% of the time, which makes it easy to see the surrounding rugged mountains through it's daily clean air. Winters are mild and the low humidity in the summer offers you an opportunity to enjoy outdoor activities and relaxing evenings. From soothing waters to lush golf courses, breathtaking natural scenery to dining and shopping, there is a diverse selection of recreational activities and cultural attractions.

Historic Yuma ‘The Oldest City on the Colorado River’ – On SouthwestBlend.com’s radio show ‘Champagne Sundays,’ we recently interviewed Tina Clark the historian and archaeologist for the Yuma Heritage Area. Tina also owns St. Paul’s Cultural Center which is home to Old St. Paul's Church which was built in the style of the English chapel in 1909.
