Balance of yin and yangThe Tree
by Margo Carrera

Imagine a big beautiful tree in your front yard.  It has grown tall and strong.  Its branches spread out into a wide canopy and its roots go deep.  This is the tree of abundance.  This is the image of the balance between the Masculine energy of Yang and the Feminine energy of Yin.

The roots that go deep and hold the tree, connecting deeply with Mother Earth, is the Yin energy.  The Trunk that grows tall and wide, bringing forth growth and strength is the Masculine Yang energy. The branches that expand outward and upward, connecting with the light, is the feminine Yin energy bringing forth inspiration from above.

So what happens when we are out of balance?  Right now on our planet, we are experiencing what life is like when we are depleted in the Yin energy and living our lives in excessive Yang energy.  War is just one example of this excessive Yang energy and greed is another. The desire to grow becomes imbalanced.  We lose site of our connection with the divine and focus only on having more. This could be more power over others, more money, more things, and more status.  This is the Yang energy running ramped without the connection to source.

Often when we are out of balance in one direction, we sway to the other extreme to counter act this imbalance.  This has been seen in the spiritual revolution.  So what is it like when we are in excessive Yin energy?  Here we experience much inspiration but none of it seems to go anywhere.  It is not put into action without the Masculine Yang energy.  These are the dreamers but not the doers.

A month ago I received this parable while in meditation.  I then taught it at a Grandmother’s Empowerment Event where more of the teaching came through.  To read the full transcript, go to www.WholisticHealth.net and click on Articles and look for The Tree.
