Creek Apple
Butter Cake
This ‘applelicious’ cake recipe is from Diane Rose of Myrtle
Creek Nursery & Farmhouse Shop in Fallbrook, CA. The apple
butter used is available at Myrtle Creek Nursery or off their
website.
2-1/2 cups
all-purpose flour
2 cups sugar
1-1/2 tsp baking soda
1-1/2 tsp salt
3/4 tsp Cinnamon
˝ tsp allspice
˝ tsp cloves
˝ cup margarine or butter
˝ cup water
1-1/2 cup Myrtle Creek Apple Butter (available online at
MyrtleCreekNursery.com)
1 Egg
˝ cup chopped walnuts
˝ cup golden raisins
Sift together
dry ingredients into a large mixing bowl. Add margarine or
butter and water; beat 1 minute with electric mixer. Add Myrtle
Creek Apple Butter and egg; beat 3 minutes. Stir in nuts and
raisins. Pour into a greased and floured 13”X9”X2” cake pan.
Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes. Cool on wire rack.
When cake is cool, dust with powdered sugar or frost with a
brown sugar type frosting.
