Robert Michael Wilson, a retired law enforcement officer, has turned his expertise to examining stories and incidences that occurred during the "old west" time period. He has a penchant for the truth, making sure that what he writes is factual--at the same time, he has the knack of bringing the old west characters to life.

Wilson's books include Drenched in Blood, Rigid in Death; the true story of the Wickenburg massacre; Tragic Jack; the true story of Arizona Pioneer John William Swilling; Encyclopedia of Stagecoach Robbery in Arizona; Crime & Punishment in Early Arizona; Murder & Execution in the Wild West; Great Stagecoach Robberies of the Old West; Great Train Robberies of the Old West; Frontier Justice in the Wild West; Bungled, Bizarre and Fascinating Executions; and his latest book, Encyclopedia of Stagecoach Robbery in Nevada. In addition to his books, he has also written numerous articles for various publications, including Old West magazine--and appeared on the History Channel production, Massacres, as an old west consultant.

Book Review: Wells, Fargo & Co. A Report of losses from Stagecoach and Train Robbers 1870-1884, 125 Anniversary Edition by R. Michael Wilson is a well written, researched and complied report that corrects some of the inconsistencies and errors of the original report by James B. Hume and John N. Thacker. It gives the details of over 400 stagecoach and train robberies that take place in a half dozen wild western states and territories. With Bob Wilson's knack for storytelling, but sticking to the truth, he delivers a much more exciting account of these events that takes the reader back to the "wild, west" days of outlaws and lawmen. It is a great read for anyone that is interested in the law and order of the old west.
